Book Review: Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow

If you like the books of Jessica Day George, you will love this story based on Norwegian mythology.

Recommended for Ages 8-15

Sun and Moon, Ice and Snow is similar to some of Jessica Day George's other books in the way that they are based on fairy tales. This specific book is based on a Norwegian fairy tale. I think this is so cool because there are countless books based on fairy tales but this one is really original.

This book is set in “the North” where it is always cold. There are talking animals and legends. Mysteries and tragedies, smarts, and action. It is a bit complicated but beautiful.

What I really like about this book is the characters. There are some that are nervous and funny, others that are somber and secretive, some that are lively and confident, and ones that are curious and strong. You want to keep reading the book to find the answers to all of the questions.

Like most books, there is a villain and a heroine which is still true in this but it is a bit different. The author of this book, Jessica Day George, is a New York Times bestselling author of young adult fantasy. She currently lives in Utah, she is one of my favorite authors for many books. So go read this book, there are secrets to uncover. Hope You Like the Book!
