Welcome to our very first guest reviewer, Mia F., from Washington, D.C. Mia will be writing reviews for YA/Teen books!

Have you ever devoured a book? Well, that's what I did with the Ruby Red trilogy. Gwenyth Shepard has been able to live a relatively normal life so far. The secret time-traveling gene that runs through the female half of her family has supposedly skipped Gwen, so she can avoid all the "mysteries" that come with the gene, and can spend her time watching movies, and hanging out with her best friend, Lesley. Life is all fun and games until she starts taking uncontrollable leaps into the past, and is suddenly introduced to the world of "mysteries", unprepared and unwelcome. Not to mention, she is introduced to her rude, obnoxious, and good-looking time-traveling counterpart, Gideon.

This trilogy is hilarious, action-packed, and has a magnetic plot; making you feel as if you were a part of the adventure. The author writes the main character, Gwenyth, in an approachable and quirky way so she can relate to the audience in real life when suddenly being introduced to archaic clothing and manners. She also has to overcome new challenges and problems and she has to solve them without much preparation and understanding of the past. Being thrown into this situation creates a unique and fun storyline for readers and I loved this series!
